BSNL and other internet problems Financial problems of retired people Difficulties faced in getting loans Bookmark this page |
I was in a very good position
earning handsomely. I had to support my parents and a mentally handicapped
sister. Hence my expenses exceeded income level. After my mother’s death,
I had to keep my father and the ailing sister with me and support them
along with my family. Fortunately I have only one daughter and she is
married now. She has a son aged almost 3 years now. October 19th is his
3rd birthday. After my retirement my problems increased. No pension for me. I started borrowing money from friends first. Then to keep up my promise to them I started borrowing for interest. This habit slowly increased and led me to moneylenders who charged very high rate of interest. I am paying interest only to them and unable to repay the principal amount. My daughter’s family lives in Hyderabad. I don’t get any help from her. It is not fair on my part to expect any help from a daughter after marriage. Not only that, she is not an earning member. Being a housewife she gets her maintenance from her husband only. My son-in-law is a very affectionate and kind person. So far as he keeps his family happy, I am happy. They don’t trouble me for anything. I feel it is big blessing that they maintain themselves happily. My wife is not in good health. She is very weak. She is a housewife, a very kind and affectionate lady. Poor wife! She is suffering from pain due to ‘gallbladder stones’. She is a heart patient also. Doctors fear that she may not withstand a major surgery. I don’t have money to take her to a specialist who can do the ‘pothole surgery’ or laparoscopy? Simply I pray and wait for a Miracle to happen! .Contributed by Mr. Samson, Chennai |
